To complete the rejuvenation that the Mykonos Grand can provide, Althea Spa Retreat promises a journey designed to restore and revive the mind, body and spirit. A sanctuary of wellness dedicated to caring, compassionate and unobtrusive service, the spa offers therapies that incorporate the latest trends in health and beauty as well as natural ancient Greek health traditions.

The Spa

Althea Spa Retreat

Althea Spa Retreat at Mykonos Grand is named after the Greek goddess of healing and located opposite the island where, according to myth, Apollo, the god of light, was born. The light from the Cycladic skies overhead fills many of the spa’s facilities, which include shaded courtyards, a semi-caved thalasso pool, a steam room and sauna, and indoor and outdoor treatment areas.

Designed to restore and revive mind, body and spirit, the treatments at Althea incorporate the latest trends in health and beauty as well as ancient Greek healing rituals and ingredients. Face rituals from Swiss brand Valmont include Energy of the Glaciers and Lifting from the Peaks, while French Phytomer treatments include Hydra Original, Douceur Marine for fragile and sensitive skin. Healing stones and lava shells massages are offered, as well as Greek cupping, aromatherapy and detox massages. A special Sparadise for Kids treats the little ones to some pampering time out.

The Aegean Breeze ritual delivers a combination of body scrub, mask, facial and massage, while Althea’s Excellence involves thermal back and leg treatments as well as a mini facial. Other bespoke experiences include a Check-in Relaxation to start your wellness holiday; a Romantic Journey, including a three candles massage; and Thalasso Catharsis, which leads guests through a rejuvenating steam, sauna, thalassotherapy massage and facial.

A menu of body waxing, mani-pedi services and hair finishing touches is also available to leave you feeling like a modern-day Greek god or goddess.

To Eat

Nama translates as ‘gift from God’ and the restaurant of the same name at Mykonos Grand is a sublimely simple place that offers indoor and alfresco dining with views of the Aegean Sea. A contemporary take on Greek cuisine incorporates herbs from the hotel’s garden and locally caught seafood.

For wine afficionados, the Wine Cellar hosts classes, tastings, food and private dining for up to ten guests. And for something more bespoke, personalised dining is catered for with romantic evenings on the beach, poolside or by way of a picnic basket to take with you on daytime drive across the island.

Meanwhile the marble and mirrored Bolla Bar is the perfect spot for sundowners and sounds, with a unique lighting display that is as impressive as the sky outside.
