One of Europe’s ultimate health and wellness destinations, the Bürgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne sits on the banks of Lake Lucerne in the heart of Switzerland, with glorious views of the Swiss Alps.

With two multi award-winning spa and wellness sanctuaries alongside two luxury hotels, a Chalet hotel and private Residence Suites, the resort is a hospitality mecca. Dating back to 1873, it spans more than 60-hectares and is now part of the Bürgenstock Collection, one of Switzerland’s largest deluxe hotel groups.

Getting to Bürgenstock Resort is part of its charm. You can arrive by car or can choose to take the resort’s unique shuttle boat, the MS Bürgenstock Catamaran, and then enjoy a short climb on the scenic funicular railway.

With views over Lake Lucerne, the Bürgenstock Alpine Spa offers 10,000sqm dedicated to wellness. Or you can opt for the holistic Healthy by Nature concept at the Waldhotel Spa. Both boast extensive pools and thermal experiences, and exclusive treatment options.

The Alpine Spa

Alpine Spa

The Bürgenstock Alpine Spa is set over an impressive 10,000sqm and offers five pools, including the iconic infinity pool overlooking Lake Lucerne, which is heated to a blissful 35°C.

The indoor pool’s floor-to ceiling windows also offer breathtaking lake and mountain views, while the outdoor Hollywood Pool is named in honour of celebrities who’ve visited over the years. There’s also the refreshing eco pool, plus the hot (35°C) and cold (16˚C) plunge pools, topped off with the saline-enriched floating pool.

If thermal facilities are your thing, there are four panoramic saunas and an Alpine steam room. For relaxation, head to the spa’s silent relaxation areas or the Panorama Spa Garden.

In 13 treatment rooms the extensive menu includes offerings from Dr Barbara Sturm, Amra Skincare, Biologique Recherche, Dr Burgeneer and 111Skin. New for 2025, the Alpine Spa Beauty Lounge is a beauty destination focussed on facials, offering non-invasive cosmetic treatments from a regenerative boost and contour tautening to post-surgery healing.

Bürgenstock’s second wellness offering, The Waldhotel Spa, is billed as a place where wellness and wellbeing meet for pure recovery and relaxation, and it doesn’t fail to deliver. As well as an indoor lap pool, the outdoor pool is heated to 35˚C. There is a salt grotto, Finnish sauna and a cooler aroma sauna, plus a Hamman steam bath. Treatments use Susanne Kaufmann and Swissline Cosmetics.
