A private mountain railway brings you to the hotel’s entrance where you’ll find accommodation in a choice of rooms, suites and Mountain Lofts with playful interiors and luxurious amenities.

If your energy reserves are depleted from a day fishing, hiking, climbing, skiing, foraging, lake swimming or sledging, there are five eateries offering everything from Spanish / Swiss tapas to a sublime fine-dining experience.

For those seeking a wellness break with a difference, the hotel’s stunning spa, designed to resemble glass sails rising from the mountainside, is a sanctuary offering experiences rooted in science and holistic modalities. Fully organic products accompany indulgent and restorative rituals in facilities that include private spa suites, hydrotherapy circuits, physical training spaces and cocooning treatment rooms.

Tschuggen Bergoase Spa

Set across four floors, the Tschuggen Bergoase Spa has been hewn from the Alpine landscape by Swiss architect Mario Botta and incorporates natural healing as part of its Moving Mountains concept. This approach to wellness aims to restore vitality and help you celebrate the joy of life.

The spa offers 12 treatment rooms, private spa suites, pools, a fitness centre and various saunas and steam baths. A separate women’s beauty area comes complete with a hair salon, and the nail lounge delivers the perfect finishing touches.

Methode Physiodermie products from Swiss brand Sintyl are used in skincare treatments such as Equilibre Essentiel Expert, and the three-step T3 Skin Rejuvenator combines diamond abrasion and aquafacial tecnhiques. For men, Chrono Repair Homme offers deep cleansing and nourishment for the skin.

Daily workouts, yoga classes and sports sessions are available throughout your stay, while a wide range of holistic rituals are on the menu to invigorate or relax your body and mind. You can also try conscious breathing or mindful meditation to restore your sense of calm.

Massages incorporate everything from deep-tissue techniques to cold stone therapy, singing bowls, rollers and herbs, while a selection of detoxifying body treatments includes the use of hydrotherapy baths and bespoke fragrances to restore vitality.

To Eat

Throughout its comprehensive and varied dining offer, Tschuggen Grand Hotel offers ‘flavour with a sense of place’.

The fine-dining experience at La Brezza, which has two Michelin stars and 18 GaultMillau points, includes newly interpreted traditional Swiss and Italian cuisine alongside plant-based dishes by chef Marco Campanella.

For mountain views, stylish interiors and alfresco dining on a sun-drenched terrace, visit the refined and innovative Grand Restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Alternatively descend to the Basement, where the ambience is warm and the cuisine is tasty and honest, made from local ingredients with a touch of traditional Swiss passion.

Fancy a laidback lunch or snacks after a day hiking or skiing? Then visit La Collina for light bites and cakes as well as more meaty mains. The Spa Lounge offers fresh juices and nourishing snacks to complement your restorative spa day, while the Tschuggen Bar is the place to unwind later on with an enticing cocktail as a reward.
