Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay
Tamuda Bay, Morocco
A 15km sweep of shell-strewn coastline, Tamuda Bay—often dubbed the Moroccan Riviera—is quietly emerging as one of North Africa’s most alluring coastal enclaves and becoming a magnet for discerning travellers…
Just 20 minutes from historic Tétouan, renowned for its 15th-century medina (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and framed by the rugged Rif Mountains with views across the shimmering Alboran Sea, Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay occupies a privileged setting. This ultra-luxurious beachfront retreat is home to an exceptional 4,300 sq m medical spa, positioning it firmly on the wellness map.
The third property in the Royal Mansour portfolio, owned by Morocco’s King Mohammed VI, the hotel features striking interiors designed by the London-based studio Muza Lab. This beautifully designed resort and medi-spa blends Mediterranean culture with legendary Moroccan hospitality. Its 55 sand-coloured suites and seven villas are scattered across the 10-hectare estate, evoking a village nestled between mountains and sea.
Understated yet unmistakably opulent, with a aesthetic centred on natural materials such as warm wood and textured stone, this art-filled sanctuary is just a 15-minute drive from Tetouan Airport.
The Medi-Spa
Morocco’s spa culture is steeped in centuries of ritual, from ancient Roman bathhouses to the enduring tradition of the weekly hammam. At Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay, this heritage is reimagined through a modern lens at its pioneering medi-spa—the first high-tech medical-aesthetic spa of its kind in Morocco. The medi-spa’s philosophy is inspired by the world’s Blue Zones—regions where longevity is intrinsically linked to lifestyle, environment and balance.
Set within opulent surroundings, the 4,300 sq m space is both a serene sanctuary and cutting-edge wellness hub. Five elegant medical treatment rooms sit alongside a multidisciplinary team that includes doctors specialising in conventional, Ayurvedic and naturopathic medicine, as well as a nutritionist, physiotherapist and a cohort of highly skilled therapists—ensuring a world-class approach to wellbeing.
At the heart of the offering are the spa’s signature longevity programmes, designed to optimise health and support regeneration. Rooted in five key pillars—metabolic and functional balance, nutrition, physical vitality, sleep and recovery, and emotional wellbeing—these immersive journeys are tailored to the individual, with options spanning four, seven, 10 or 14 days.
Each programme begins with an in-depth medical assessment, including blood tests, nutritional and physical analysis, and a comprehensive longevity consultation, culminating in a bespoke care plan. From there, days unfold with a curated blend of advanced therapies and restorative practices—think cryotherapy, fitness coaching, massage, yoga and Pilates, alongside acupuncture, colon hydrotherapy and targeted aesthetic treatments. A standout is the four-day ‘Boost and Balance’ programme, which draws on preventive and integrative medicine to restore equilibrium across body and mind. Combining personalised diagnostics with expert-led treatments, it is designed to renew energy, sharpen focus and enhance overall wellbeing.
For those seeking a more flexible experience, the spa’s extensive treatment menu is equally compelling. A global collection of massages ranges from Balinese and traditional Thai to Ayurvedic Abhyanga and reflexology, alongside immersive signature rituals. Facials, using MarocMaroc and Dr Burgener Switzerland, incorporate advanced technologies such as ultrasonic wave therapy, with formulations enriched by gold and green caviar. Elsewhere, results-driven treatments include microneedling with radiofrequency, IPL, cryolipolysis and oxygen therapy, alongside in-depth diagnostics such as Visia® skin analysis and 3D body scanning. Hair therapies and classic beauty treatments—from manicures to pedicures—complete the offering.
Water, as ever in Moroccan wellness traditions, plays a central role. Alongside the traditional hammams, steam rooms and saunas, the spa features a striking indoor pool, vitality pools and a dedicated Watsu pool for aquatic therapy. A salt cave, candlelit treatment rooms and tranquil relaxation spaces enhance the sense of escape, while outdoor areas invite movement and mindfulness in the open air.
Above it all, a rooftop fitness studio—fully equipped with the latest Matrix technology—offers panoramic views across the mountains and sea, with a curated programme of yoga, Pilates and meditation classes to complete the experience.
