Set over 500 acres of private parkland, for more than 300 years Lucknam Park has been a haven of peaceful luxury. From the moment you commence along the mile-long lime and beech-lined driveway you will be transported to a place of elegance and tranquility.
This graciously restored Palladium mansion house, enveloped within its own classical gardens, parkland and paddocks offers a quintessential taste of English country life. Whether you are wandering the grounds, taking refreshment in its Michelin-starred restaurant or retiring to one of the sumptuously decorated rooms, suites or cottages, Lucknam Park is the perfect destination for unwinding and reconnecting to your senses.
To ensure complete relaxation, the Lucknam Park Spa provides the highest standards of care possible. Watch the sunset from a soothing outdoor hydrotherapy pool, unwind in a selection of thermal rooms or reinvigorate yourself in the salt-water plunge pool before treating yourself to the attention of one of the highly-trained therapists, who deliver a full range of personalised face, body and soul-reviving treatments.
Lucknam Park Spa
The estate’s walled gardens and tree-lined avenues are the perfect setting for the luxurious Lucknam Park Spa, where treatments come from the sustainable skincare brand Natural Spa Factory.
Facilities include a 20m indoor swimming pool as well as an indoor and outdoor hydrotherapy pool. Thermal experiences comprise Japanese salt, amethyst, aromatic steam and sauna rooms, while additional steam and sauna rooms are available in each changing room.
Life Fitness and Technogym equipment is available in the fitness suite and there is also an outdoor gym as well as The Studio by Lucknam Park, a purpose-built space for yoga and Pilates classes. Two all-weather floodlit tennis courts and a five-a-side football pitch complete the fitness offering.
Personalised treatments include facials by the cutting-edge skincare brand 111SKIN, as well as holistic massages, Reflexology and Mind & Body rituals. Mani-pedi services are courtesy of award-winning brand CND.

Lucknam Park 3 Bedroom Cottage
A mile long, sweeping avenue of lime and beech trees lead to Lucknam Park, a beautiful 17th century greystone mansion set amongst parkland, rose and lavender gardens.
An equestrian centre sits within the perfectly manicured grounds. It suddenly feels like the backdrop to a romantic period drama. Inside, the theme continues, with opulent Georgian-inspired drawing rooms dressed with Chesterfield sofas, roaring open fires and impressive floral displays. It’s all very grand. There’s even a wood-panelled library…
Lucknam Park is truly one of England’s finest hotels – providing 5-star luxury and impeccable service at every turn.
The Spa
The award-winning ESPA Spa is at the back of the manor house and set within a walled garden, accessible via a rose trellised walkway. State-of-the-art facilities include a swimming pool, a swim through indoor/outdoor hydrotherapy pool, thermal cabins, sauna and steam rooms, treatment rooms, and a relaxation area.
The Wellbeing House is located in parkland, at the back of the main spa building. The Cotswold stone house, is an oasis of calm and takes an holistic approach to wellbeing. There is a studio for Yoga and Pilates and therapies include flotation experiences, as well as Reflexology, Reiki and Haslauer Reflective Sunlight therapy. Retreats include Corporate Mindfulness, Mindfulness for Mothers and sleep retreats, with various visiting masters on hand throughout the year.
The Treatment
The ESPA inner calm massage is a bespoke massage designed to quieten your mind, nourish your skin and release tension using aromatherapy oils.
The treatment began with a consultation to discuss my general health and any problem areas that needed attention. After discussing my personal needs, I enjoyed a full body massage, with concentration on my back and shoulders, where the expert therapist worked to dispel the knots and tension which are often found in people like me who crouch over a computer screen all day.
My shoulders had definitely dropped a couple of inches on completion and my lower back felt free and lose.
Other Treatments
ESPA Sea Salt Glow – designed to polish away skin-dulling cells, intensively smoothing and deeply hydrating skin.
Carita Cinetic Lift Expert Facial – the combination of Micro-currents, Ultrasound and LED futuristic technologies, create a dramatic effect on the skin after just one treatment.
The Programme
Throughout the year visiting masters offer specialist clinics in mindfulness, sleep and nutrition, alongside yoga retreats with renowned practitioners.
To Stay
We stayed in The Juliet Suite which had an elegant lounge and dining area, leading on to a Juliet balcony that overlooked the fragrant lavender gardens. The uber-luxe suite, sports a real log fire, four-poster bed with gold canopy, and a wonderful marble bathroom with walk in shower and tub, and has a generous supply of ESPA products.
You’ll find free Wi-Fi, DVD players and handmade chocolates in all rooms.
To Eat
Executive Chef, Hywel Jones has held a Michelin star at the restaurant since 2006 and offers unforgettable dining experience. Hywel uses the finest organic ingredients and herbs are picked fresh from the hotel’s kitchen garden. The restaurant offers both à la carte and tasting menus.
We were lucky enough to try the vegetarian tasting menu and dined on delights such as tarragon and ricotta gnocchi and Raviolo of Ellbridge farm quail egg and morel mushrooms. The highlight was the banana parfait with warm run and raisin sponge, banana and passion fruit sorbet. To say it was divine would be an understatement!
Facilities and Activities
Lucknam Park has a really great Equestrian Centre. With 35 horses and ponies they will match your ride to your size and level of experience. The full size all weather arena allows you to hone your riding skills in dressage and jumping, whilst beginners can gain confidence in the lunge area.
More advanced horse riders can enjoy escorted hacks around the 500 acre estate or longer rides through beautiful Costwold villages. If you are an accomplished equestrian you can even do a round of cross country, on a course that was built by Badminton course builders.
