Nosh Garden Kitchen at La Suite West, London

Perfectly positioned on a quiet tree-lined street close to Hyde Park, La Suite West, a wellness destination and boutique hotel, has collaborated with Nosh detox founder Geeta Sidhu-Robb (a pioneer in the British wellness industry, Nosh Detox was the UK’s first-ever detox home delivery service) to launch the new Nosh Garden Kitchen. The vegan menu uses superfoods and produce which are additive, egg and preservative-free, high in vitamins and naturally flavoured. Over 90% of the menu is also gluten-free.
We headed to the eatery to see if the hummus lived up to the hype…
The creativity in the kitchen and the delicate flavours which emerge are matched by the beautiful presentation. The only guilt I felt tucking into my starter of courgette rolls stuffed with red and green pesto and olive tapenade was that I was destroying it’s artful form. The black and white quinoa salad with white beans, artichokes and red onions in a citrus dressing was equally as eye-pleasing. Both tasted sublime. My companion munched on falafels with hummus – it did indeed live up to the hype – followed by a black bean and mushroom burger (which he declared better than meat) served with the best sweet potato wedges I’ve ever tasted.
Desserts, also on the afternoon tea menu, are not to be missed. Generous portions of chocolate brownies served with banana cream or strawberries with coconut cream, looked like summer on a plate and tasted even better.
Décor is as serene as the service and the garden is a magical oasis of trees and fairy lights.
The comprehensive non-alcoholic drinks menu is a winner too. My ‘mockjito’ looked and tasted delicious and I didn’t miss the rum. This is guilt-free eating and drinking at it’s best.
A vegan diet is associated with a higher consumption of fibre, folic acid, vitamins C and E, magnesium and unsaturated fat.
