Non-Invasive Anti-Ageing, Juliet Kinsman on Dr Dray’s Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy presses pause on the ageing process in a non-invasive way— even turning back the clock, essentially — care of a hand-held ‘gun’ which injects calcium, vitamins and hyaluronic acid into your face to nourish skin and stimulate collagen production. If beautifying facials work on the surface, this ‘youthifier’ goes deeper to give radiant, more elastic skin.
Creator of the ultimate in vitamin injections, Dr Maurice Dray is well known as an innovator when it comes to facial aesthetics. At his Kensington medi-spa, he’s joined by leading lights in cutting-edge cosmetic processes, Dr Anton Calmon and Benjamin Kauffholz, both of whom consulted with my recent mesotherapy treatment, along with Oksana Makhova.
What it involves: Hyaluronic acid is the main weapon here in the battle against dehydrated, thinning skincare of super-quick micro-injections. Anaesthetic is definitely needed when you have that pneumatic gun getting busy with its pricking in of Dr Dray’s magic potion — those tiny patches of skin which haven’t been numbed by the de-sensitivising gel they smear on will sense the presence of those needles. After the treatment, a soothing hyaluronic acid mask calms the treated skin — and within an hour of stepping into the clinic, you’re ready to go, maybe with a few tiny tell-tale pin-pricks but nothing dramatic.
Immediate results: Your skin’s suppleness is improved straight away, but for the most effective results, they recommend three mesolift treatments over a fortnight, with top-ups every two or three months. I’m delighted to have had the treatment a week before a long-haul flight which was a great pre-hab session to deal with all that dehydrating time in the air.
Long-term benefits: The vitamins, minerals and hyaluronic acid combination stimulates the growth of new skin tissue, elastin and collagen. Mesotherapy every six months or so is a fantastic way to halt the signs of ageing without risking any signs you’ve ‘had work’.
