Anazoe Spa at Costa Navarino Introduces a Detoxifying Wellness Programme to Rebalance Mind & Body
Anazoe Spa at Costa Navarino, the luxury sustainable destination in the Greek region of Messinia in the south-west Peloponnese, is introducing a new calming, detoxifying spa programme for guests using indigenous Messinian ingredients, to rebalance and energise mind and body.
Guests staying at The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort and The Westin Costa Navarino Resort will be able to clear the build-up of stress and improve wellbeing and vitality, whilst relaxing in one of the most unspoilt landscapes in the Mediterranean. The resorts and spa are set within 130 hectares of rich natural environment overlooking a one km stretch of untouched sandy beach and the Ionian Sea.
Anazoe Spa’s name is derived from the Greek word for rejuvenation and encapsulates the underlying aim of the spa, total revitalisation of body and spirit in accordance with the ancient Greek maxim “a healthy mind in a healthy body”. Its speciality treatments are based on ancient Greek healthy and beauty practices, utilising the area’s natural ingredients and unique products. The 4,000 square metre spa has 21 treatment rooms and three Thalassotherapy warm pools with hydrotherapy jets to stimulate and tone tired aching muscles.
The new three-day programme at the award-winning Anazoe Spa incorporates a daily analytical jet session in the thalassotherapy pools with six toxin elimination treatments. Each day, the thalassotherapy session is complemented by two detox treatments starting with the Oxos Hot Bath – a soak in a bath of hot cider vinegar. Oxos is the ancient Greek world for vinegar and it is known to have been used by Hippocrates for medicinal purposes. The natural minerals, vitamins and enzymes of the organic apple cider vinegar binds with the toxins to help the body eliminate them more effectively, thus detoxifying, exfoliating and brightening the skin’s appearance.
On day two, the Messinian Salt & Honey Scrub uses local honey to soften the skin while lifting your spirit with a combination of healing oils and local herb essences such as rosemary and lavender. Heat and honey are also used in Melisseus, the Spirit of Honey massage to help support the body’s energy balance. As a natural antiseptic, honey absorbs the impurities of the skin, soothes and heals the complexion, while the application of gentle heat promotes circulation and relaxes muscles.
For the face, the Traditional Olive Nourishing Facial on day three, uses lime blossom, sage and olive leaf to give the skin a healthy glow. Lime blossom provides powerful antioxidant protection, locks in moisture and helps balance the skin’s natural sebum production and as a natural astringent, it tightens and cleans the pores. The antioxidant in sage helps to increase the circulation of the skin and assist in cell turnover, acting as a natural exfoliant. Olive leaf protects against sun damage and helps reduce hyper-pigmentation reducing the signs of ageing.
The programme ends with an outdoor herbal full body massage within the spa’s herbal garden. The massage is enjoyed with wafts of rosemary, lavender and other Messinian herbs including thyme, chamomile, lime blossom and lemon verbena grown in the spa garden while shaded by a myrtle tree.
